PFLAG Newberg Projects:

Scholarships

PFLAG Newberg has offered college/trades scholarships to Yamhill County graduates since 2019. With generous donations from our community including Wine Country Pride, we are able to expand our scholarship offerings each year! Click here to read more about our scholarships.

Unity Book Project

In 2020, we launched our book project, offering a collection of 4 queer-friendly books to every elementary and middle school in Yamhill county. 91% of the 34 schools accepted our donations and we distributed 142 books across the county in our first year!

PRIDE Celebrations

PFLAG Newberg has celebrated PRIDE in our county since 2018!

*2018/2019: At first, we took a delegation of LGBTQ+ folks, family & friends to Portland, OR PRIDE parades and events.

*2020 and 2021 during the height of the pandemic, we held car parades in Newberg, OR and partnered with Wine Country Pride to bring love and celebration to our county.

We invited local libraries to celebrate Pride in their presentations, book displays, and offerings for the month of June. We created art kits for them to distribute to local youth.
